Crash Response now has the software and hardware required to download data from the engine data recorders of Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar and International engines. The data provides information related to the vehicle’s speed, braking, clutch and throttle position, etc. prior to the crash that can be very useful to the reconstructionist. Not all data downloaded will pertain to the crash under investigation so it is crucial that the reconstructionist is capable of interpreting and analyzing the data correctly.
